Chefs in the City 2010

Luck Bros' Coffee House is thankful to have had the opportunity to serve coffee for the WOSU fundraiser Chefs in the City.  Not only did we have an opportunity to try amazing food from great local chefs and Chicagos Rick Bayless; we also got to show off.  We brewed fifty Chemex to pour as many has 200 coffees using over five pounds of coffee and fifteen gallons of purified water.

Best of all, we brewed to order and used no urns so every cup was served fresh!

We got a ton of requests to know what we were serving.  Here it is:
The Coffee:
Aroma: Sweet, candy-like, blackberry 
Acidity: Medium, tangy 
Body: Medium, round and buttery 
Flavor: Sweet blackberry, black tea, spice in the finish
Santa Marie de Jesus, Guatemala, Antigua region
Crop Year: 2008-09 
Altitude: 1700-2000 meters 
Varietals: Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra

Sumatra Gayo
Notes: Butterscotch, sweet, smokey, dry acid, chocolate.
